    Default Pain when running

My knee hurts when I run and it feels like it's under the kneecap
But what I find strange is that it hurts only after a while, maybe halfway or so into the run, and its not excruciating pain, its more like discomfort everytime my foot hits and pushes off the ground
I took a week break but it didnt help
I'm not sure what it is and it doesn't seem to match any of the injury descriptions
Do I have to see the doctor?
If it helps, I'm 17, female

    Hi

    Thy this page http://www.sportsinjuryclinic.net/cybertherapist/front/knee/indexcmp.php

Sounds like it might be patellofemoral pain syndrome, common in girls your age, especially when running.

Can be treated with a rehabilitation program as its usually down to muscle imbalances. have a look at the page above and the rehabilitation, stretching and strengthening pages that link to it for some ideas.

    I hope this helps

    Heidi

I'll take the week off and I'll try the stretches, hopefully they'll help
if anyone else has other suggestions, feel free to post them
