    Default Patellofemoral pain syndrome.

So, it has been said that I have patellofemoral pain syndrome. So far I have gone to six things of physical therapy and it is still hurting right now. Pretty badly at times today. I was wondering, should I still be having this pain and how long does it usually take for physical therapy to start helping it? I am in marching band and really want this pain gone. I have had it since March almost. I was taking mobic, but I gave up on that. Don't know what else can help it.

Unfortunately the treatment for PF pain syndrome is a long process as the problems causing the pain have developed over long periods and so take a long time to reverse. Keep at it.
As a temporary solution have you tried a knee support or taping the patella?

I have actually worn a brace and my physical therapist taped it once but I couldn't tell any difference. Yesterday at PT he told me that he really thinks it could either be an inflamed plica or something to do with the meniscus because he said that if it was a muscle thing it would have starting to hurt less and it hasn't. We are starting a strong anti inflammatory whenever it comes in. It something where I have to wear a patched that has to be charged or something (he didn't give me the name of it).
