Default Persistent pain just to the inside of fibula

I was playing football 2 weeks ago, ran into get the ball and my leg knocked against the other guys. It immediately went numb, I felt pain, I couldn't really stand, and I get subbed off because I just could not continue. Later that evening, the side of my left leg, my left calf and my left ankle started to hurt. The ankle and calf pain went away after 2-3 days, but now the pain has localized and increased in intensity around the head of my left fibula. It is sort of just in and to the side (inner) of the head, but still quite close so I'm not sure if it is a bone bruise, muscle, ligament or tendon problem.

Last week I definitely had a limp and an irregular stride; and now I can sort of walk normally, but I do feel a sensation (I just am able to walk through it). I I can stand on one leg, walk up stairs those sorts of things, but I do still feel that same pain. What I can do is running. Even mild pressure (i.e. a mild stamp on the ground) is painful. I'm pretty sure its not LCL problem as it is below my knee and not higher or closer to the knee. I also feel no pain around my knee, the pain is only just around the fibula as I said.

I've been icing it and in the two weeks it has gotten significantly better, but the recovery seems to have reached a plateau. Some days it seems slightly better, other days it feels slightly worse than the previous day.

Anyone had this before, know what it is, recommend anything?

    Hi
THe LCL attaches to the head of the fibula so it could be involved. Could also be a minor fracture to the head of the fibula or damage to the ligament which holds the fibula onto the Tibia.
The best thing to do is to viait a physio or similar who can assess it for you and provide suitable treatment.
