    Default Right Lateral Knee injury

I feel ackwardly yesterday while playing soccer, I don`t exactly know how I landed but there was immediate pain. I walked it of and it seemed ok but it was a little sore. I can bend my knee easily, walking ony gets uncomfortable after sveral minutes and there is no swelling. The pain is on the right lateral side of the right knee when I twist my body from right to left, my knee pinches and I can`t stand on my leg. Any Ideas what it could be or suggestions?

Does the knee feel as though it gives way or locks? The bit about you twisting sounds like meniscus (cartilage) damage, although falling over is not a common mechanism for this type of injury.
Did the knee hit the ground?
or was the foot planted on the floor?
Do you know if there was any twisting of the knee when you fell?

The knee gives way like there is a slight pinch, presently there is not much pain, it only feels like the joint has been "over worked". However, there is loud crackling noise when I bend (squat position). When I fell my right leg stayed planted and I over extended sliding for the ball, so yes my knee did twist.
