    Default bad thigh pain

Hi. Last night I went to a spinning class (exercise class based on the exercise bike, with a build up of resistance - sitting and standing) for the first time. I have done some bike riding but nothing on this scale. My legs were sore after exercise but when I woke up this morning the stiffness and pain was intense. I have struggled all day to walk properly - going up and down stairs is almost impossible and I can't seem to bend my leg and support myself with my thigh muscle at all. Any ideas? Thanks.

Give it a little bit longer rest before you get too worried. Stretch the muscles gently as regularly as you can and if they still ache tomorrow (Thurs-3 days after) have a warm bath and maybe get a massage.

If it has cleared up by the weekend then it was probably just DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness: http://www.sportsinjuryclinic.net/cybertherapist/general/doms.php)

If there is still pain at the weekend then I would advise you to see a physio or sports therapist about it.

    Good luck!
