Red face Burning front thigh pain

Hi, I don't know what is going on with my right thigh. Around Mid-May of this year, I started to get right groin pain and a slight right thigh pain.

Just prior to this, I had walked about 14 miles in Shape-up sneakers by Sketchers. I had been walking in them about 6 miles every other day, and then just decided to walk 14 mile in them.

It's been over two months, and my right groin pain has lessened quite a bit but my right thigh seems to be burning. I am just now letting up on exercises at all. I had put my shape-up sneakers away about a month ago. I have insomnia so I have not been sleeping well for actually about 3 years now. Is sleep an important part of healing?

I have been going to a chiropractor since my groin pain. I had an MRI done on this past Saturday, and will find out the results on this Friday.

What do you think is wrong with my thigh? Is burning pain part of having a pulled muscle?
Is this normal to take this long to heal a pulled muscle?

    Thank you,
    Barb

    Hi
Yes sleep is an important part of healing. Also if you are stressed about anything this can delay healing.
However, if there wasn't a specific point of injury and it hasn't improved over 3 months then I would say that it doesn't really sound like a muscle strain.
You have done the right thing to get it checked out. I would wait for the results of the MRI.
My concern is that is could be a referred pain from higher up, either the hip or lower back area.
But, as I say it is best to wait for your results and go from there.
