    Default Gracillios inner Groin injury

Hi, ive had an injury in the inner groin area for a long time about 3 years. In the past when ive used abductor machines at the gym ive always strugled to be able to squeeze much weight with out it hurting and it sjust feels weak.

I play alot of football and have recently found the twisting and turning involved in football aggrevates this injury now which it dodn't before. When I run on the treadmill it doesn't hurt at all but when playing football it hurts

has anyone else had this injury? and know of any relevant treatment? I rested it for a month over christmas but as soon as I went back to playing football it hurts

    Thanks

    Simon

    Hi Simon
Get yourself to a sports injury professional. Groin injuries can be quite complicated and if it hasn't resolved itself by now then I think it may need some professional treatment such as massage/ultrasound and a thorough rehab programme. This may include not only strengthening the groin muscles themselves, but also working on muscle imbalances in the hip area and core stability.
