    Default Hamstring pull?

    Hi~ I injured the back of my thigh just by a sudden movement and heard and felt a lot of popping sounds. The back of my thigh tightened up and is painful to walk. Is that a hamstring pull or strain?

    Probably yes. Hamstring strains vary in severity from grade 1 (minor tear) to grade 3 (full rupture). The important things with this injury are to ice it regularly for the first 48 hours and to start stretching it gently once you can do this pain-free.

    I really would then recommend some sports massage on it to help with healing and prevent the build up of excessive scar tissue.
