    Default Inner thigh/inner knee pain

About 5 days ago my inner (medial) right knee and thigh began to hurt and stiffen up... I've looked up some muscle charts and think perhaps I strained either (or both) the sartorius and/or the gracilius muscle(s)... the pain and stiffness seem to be responding to NSAIDs and ice... My right leg is slightly shorter than my left and I had warmed up for my workout on a stationary bike 2 days prior to the first signs of injury (pain)... I think the seat may have been slightly too high (but not uncomfortable at the time) as I found myself reaching on the downstroke with my right leg... as I was just warming up stupid me didn't bother to adjust the seat... could I have pulled these muscles using the stationary bike ?

    Hi
I guess its possible. What were you warming up for? Could it not have been anything else which did it?

As for treatment, continue to rest until daily activities are pain free. Ice and anti-inflammatories are good. Once comfortable to do so, start stretching the groin and quad muscles regularly to loosen them. You can find example stretches here:

If all is still ok, start some groin and quad strengthening. Start off with isometric which means contraction without movement (such as squeezing a ball between the knees).
After a few days of this, if still no problems, gradually return to training.

    Default Thank you for responding

I was warming up for my regular 1/2 hour workout which, on most days recently, consists of circuit training concentrating on the lower body and abs... I suppose it could have happened during the workout itself but we have been working the lower body for a while now without injury and the stationary bike was the only new variable...

Or it could be like the time I messed up my right knee (diagnosis either chrondromalacia or a torn medial meniscus) without doing anything obvious to injure it....

I guess it really doesn't matter how it happened but I'm the kind of person who is really curious and likes to have (possible) answers :-)
