    Default Quadriceps Rupture

I have a large lump larger than a golf ball and a divot in my thigh. I was running sprints and felt a sharp pain and a pop. There is also a small lump about an inch above my knee. I'm pretty sure that I tore the center head on the quadriceps. This happened about two months ago and I'm able to run and do most exercises but the lump is still there. Are there any activities that I should definitely avoid while I'm waiting to get it fixed?

    Hi
You are probably right that there was a tear to one of the quad muscles. Its great that you can do all your activities without pain. The lump and divot you describe are unlikely to go on their own. They are probably where the muscle has torn and bunched up. If it hasn't healed in 2 months on its own then it is unlikely to. I would suggest you visit a physio/physical therapist to get some treatment and massage.
