    Default rectus femors....lump?

A few months ago while taking the basketball to the hoop I felt a pain in my thigh, near the rectus femoris....I continued to play through it, and it really didnt "hinder" my speed or athletic ability. It felt as if someone had hit my in the thigh and brusied it really bad....

I have continued to use it, and have begun doing yoga and other things of that nature....

I noticed one day that I have developed a substantial lump in the muscle I know as the rectus femoris...... It is flat when I dont have it contracted, however If I stand and lift my leg upward (like an abdominal leg lift) the bluge comes out.....from there If i contract and bend the leg I can watch this lump move in sequence with the contraction of the rectus femoris.....

    any ideas?
