    Default Thigh pain-please help!!!

I started running about 6 months ago and ran in my first 5k last month in 30 years. About a month and a half ago my right thigh towards the top to inner part started hurting.............however not all the time. When I sit at my desk at work, no pain. When I get up to move around I have trouble walking. It doesn't hurt when I lay down either, but hurts when I run. I took a week off of running after the race and the pain did leave after about 5 days. The following Monday started class (Ultimate Body Shaping with running, boxing, kick boxing, weights etc.), and the first week I was fine, but completing my second week now the pain has come back. It has made it difficult to walk and run at times..........but it's not consistant. Would like some input from anyone!!!! IT's so frustrating..........have signe dup for a couple more 5k's coming up and not sure if I will be able to handle them!!!

    Hi
It sounds either like a hip flexor or groin problem.
Continue to rest and start gentle stretching. Some sports massage and professioanl treatment may also be helpful.

Its always a good idea to have a bit of complete rest to allow the muscles tor ecover and then start up again gradually.
