    Default Thigh/Quad - Tingle/Numbndess??

    Hello everyone,

I'm a 28 year bloke from the UK - just come back from the doctor who was about as helpful as a chocolate TeaPot at diagnosing a little niggle, ive had for some time - am sure specialists in this area would know a bit more, but my doctor, couldn't give me much other than he doesn't think is nerve damage as would be higher up and spread to me hip and doesn;t think its my knee - I'm just courious to what it may be and wHether jogging will be bad for it?

    Here goes:

For around 2-3 years I have had some numbness (if I scratch with my finger, feels like someone else leg) and very mild tingling in my front, right quad - probably around 3 inch sq in size.

I have started jogging in the last 3 moinths, and I wouldn't say it has got worse, but if I sit down for long peiods and stand up, my right leg feels like (it never does) it could give way for a split second - for last 2 weeks have stopped pavement pounding to see if theres been a change and there is none. - NO PAIN, JUST FEELS WEAK.

It never causes me pain and is not even that irritating, but there is definately something there!

I'll have to get some photos up, but if I look down at both legs, the right one is very slightly larger in that area as well - I used to think (don't laugh), it may be because I use to have a big bunch of keys in that pocket, thought may be constantly rubbing on my quads/thigh.

To be more specific if I look down at my RIGHT leg, the numbness is between 3pm-6pm on a clock face - so iF looking head on from your point of view, to the top left of the knee.

    Any ideas at all guys?

DO I need to build up my quads?

    Hi
Numbness and tingling are signs of nerve involvement. I disagree with what your Doctor told you. Neural symptoms can appear anywhere as the nerve can be impinged or damaged anywhere along its path.

I would recommend that you visit a physiotherapist, preferably one with some experience of treating neurological conditions.
