My 14 year old daughter first noticed pain in her thigh about three weeks ago after a softball practice. She, of course, didn't mention anything to us until the next day during a game. She said she just couldn't run w/o pain in her thigh.
We had it examed by a friend and teamates father, who is a doctor. He seemed to think it was a muscle strain. Told us to ice the leg, staff off it and rest it. He said it should be good in a week or so. He gave/showed her excersices to do to help strech that muscle before doing any activities. She did nothing after that and a week later had a travel softball tourney, couldn't play - still to painful to do any activities. Rested the whole next week and 1/2. School begins and so does Volleyball tryouts - completed those with doing only some of the activities. This week Monday said she had to stop during Vball practice to rest her leg then she was able to resume activities w/o pain after resting. Tues and Wed practiced Vball. Lots of running at the bginning of practice around the track and up and down bleachers on fball field. She was okay no pain on both of those days. Though she was finally better. Thursday, tried to play a softball game. Second @ bat ran to first base in pain again. We are at a loss as to what to do for her. She just can't seem to get over this injury. Could it be something else is so what? Or are we having her do the wrong things.
