    Default upper and outer thigh

bad pain at the joint of my upper thigh when making certain movements.pain is on the outside all the way to the middle of the front. feels like it is in the joint. can't put weight on it when bending down, certain sideways or turning motion very painful. it happened in a pool while wrestling with a float. steady dull ache that is combined with sharp pain on certain movements. seems as though the entire leg is weakened. very painful to try to turn over while in bed. this is going on 4 weeks with nsaid treatment only. i am 63 and love to play golf and this is making it very difficult. PLEASE HELP!

When you say it feels like it is in the joint, do you mean in the hip joint? or the knee?
As the pain is spread over an area and difficult to pin point it may not be an injury to the thigh as such. I would go to the doctor and get an examination of the hip, buttock and lower back area to rule out nerve compression which could result in your symptoms.
