    Default Upper thigh pain

Just recently returned from 2 weeks hiking in the Bavarian alps covering approx 10 miles per day. Prior to that was walking around 6 miles per day at home to keep fit. Now suffering from upper outside thigh pain which is intermittent, burning pain, tingling, numbness and also very itchy on occasion. Sometimes it feels hot to the touch. The muscle itself is rock hard and feels painful when pressed. The pain has gradually got worse and comes on when I am walking any distance. Should add that I am 56 years old but have exercised all my life. Should I rest it and hope it goes away or get some sort of treatment? I'm worried because I'm going back to the mountains in November! Any advice really appreciated. Thanks. Andrea

    Hi

Its definitely worth a trip to a physio or someone similar. Anything where there are tingling or numbness should be investigated further as it is usually an indication of nerve involement.
