Default Whats normal after hamstring tear

I tore my hamstring pretty bad two weeks ago (doing the splits). I had bruising from the buttocks to the knee. I think the inner two got the worst of the tear. I have been seeing a chiro and an athletic trainer did some high voltage ultrasound (that was extremely helpful) and I have been trying kinesio tape. I have been working since day 3. I am a dental assistant so I have been up and down hallways seating patients and sitting and standing alternately. I still have some pretty good pain, but my worst fear is that I have absolutely no muscle response from the two inner hamstrings! Its like my leg is jello. UGH! Is that normal?

    Hi,

If you cannot get the muscle to contract this suggests a pretty extensive tear, although if there is still pain it is probably not a full rupture.

My advise is to try to get an MRI scan. This will show up the extent of the injury and determine what kind of treatment you need next.
