    Default 17 female distance runner

Ok we got the MRi from the right hip it says that the diagnosis is
    1.anterior/superior labral tear.
2.Marrow edema in the medial side of the femoral neck consistent with STRESS RESPONSE without evidence of a Stress Tear

The remainder of the labrum appears to be intact.. No loose bodies are seen .No muscle or tendon tears are identified .

What does this mean ? help please

    Ok,
A labral tear is a tear to the ring of cartilage which surrounds the socket of the hip joint. This help to keep the hip joint stable.
The second point would probably be more commonly referred to as bone bruising.

Ok would the bone bruise cause major pain when she runs , the doctor was more concerned with the stress problem than the tear.he is keeping her on crutches for six weeks and seems to thank she will be pain free after that

Yes it would cause pain on running because of the impact. Definately a period of non-weight bearing should help.
