This is my first time on a thread. I have bee. Reading other threads and researching in the Internet, and all I am is more confused and afraid that I will never be properly diagnosed. My story on pain is long, but I will try to sum up.
Early 20s: started noticing left hip pain when standing or walking for several hours.
Late 20s: rear-ended in a car accident, low back pain, received chiropractic care for several months, and the pain reduced significantly, though it still bothered me when walking or standing a long time. Still hip pain. No problems with sitting.
Three years ago: still regular hip pain, occasional low back pain when on my feet for a while, began to notice a pain that felt like a pulled hammie. Took a break from exercise for three weeks, returned to exercise slowly, and it went away. A few months later, same pain returned. Then, I noticed a pain on the inside of my left knee, both behind and slightly above the knee and in front and slightly below the knee. Got worse, even after an exercise break. Had p.t. for a couple of months, mainly stretching and strengthening of hips, with some astym. No real improvement. Pain started to get really bad in my butt, where the hammie attaches under the crease in the middle. Sitting became excruciating. Moved to a new place, started seeing a sports medicine doc, who prescribed more stretches and exercises, and I had an MRI of hip/upper leg that showed nothing. Tried p.t. again, more of the same, with ultrasound, astym, stretching, and strengthening (exercises 5-6 days a week). Nothing has changed.
Current: the glute/butt pain has mainly subsided, though I feel it occasionally. I can sit for longer periods now. Constant pain kind of in them middle of my hammie (feels like a wad of slightly burning, aching soreness, almost as if a vice grip is squeezing it from top and bottom), pain around the inner knew still, above and below, often pain in the middle of my IT band, and most recently, what feels like a strain (aching, soreness) in my upper inner thigh/groin.
In the meantime, I have been basically relearning all posture and body functions: corrected forward head syndrome with upper body posture work; Corrected an exterior turned thigh to make it rotate more to the interior (which lessened some of the inner knee pain until recently)--it used to fall open/out when walking; corrected an excessive pelvic tuck to a more neutral curved spine (almost where butt sticks out, but with lower abs still contracted); just started working on correcting overpronation with foot exercises and new minimalist shoes.
I am fairly active (walk 30 minutes a day, stretch at least that long, and incorporate either p.t. Exercises and/or yoga). I am flexible, and the tests for pain from the p.t. never brought out pain at that time, though I would have soreness later after that. I just started massage therapy a few weeks ago, and he's been doing a lot of work on my inner thigh, quad, hammie, and calf. Seems that the groin pain really came about after that, to where I can't walk long without the pain cropping up, and might have worsened with trying to correct overpronation (without use of orthotics).
I feel like I am going crazy because no one has given me a diagnosis or explanation of what could be wrong. I feel like I don't know what a normal body posture is, since I am always correcting things. I would really love to get some advice or even confirmation that I am not alone in having this problem.
