Hello,
I weight lift, and about 6 weeks ago I done a particular exercise (deadlift), and on the last repetition, I struggled to 'lockout', so as you should, I squeezed my glutes hard and managed to get it.
After the workout, the part in the link below highlighted felt tight. But it did not feel in the leg or abdominals itself. After a few days, it subsided. When I done Squats about a week later, again, the feeling came back.

I then went on holiday. One morning I got up and walked to the shops, and I got a sharp pain in this area, which then went. The next day I was sitting and caught a nerve, which meant the next day I had to rest as I had pain doing through my right buttock.
I then came back and rested 2 weeks, and after speeking to my sports massage girl, she suggested when I go to squat, I try some core work before to see if there any problems. There wasnt, and I warmed up more than usual. And after a few sets, the discomfort (tightness) came back, and was sore to push the next few days.
I went to see my chiropractor yesterday (as I have one or two back problems, but not related to this), and he was quick to dismiss sciatic nerve for some reason (even though I have exerpienced soreness and throbbing in the area on my groin, and through my right buttock). He checked to see if it was a hernia, and theres no signs, but he thought it could be soft tissue damage (deeper). Stretching my legs didnt cause any problems either.
When I've been sitting for a while, or do exercises like Squats or Deadlifts, which involved bending at the waist, and either pressure or a fair amount of usage of my glutes, the discomfort comes back and I get the same symptons (sometimes throbbing in groin or right glute, and a bit tight sort of 'flexor' feeling).
What makes me wonder of course, is what this could be, and how to overcome it. As I dont want to take months off, and come back and the same thing happen again.
Also, something else I found is that when I foam roller / tennis ball, my glutes and parts of my buttocks, they are tight and uncomfortable to do, espcially my right. Afterwards though, the pain in my groin goes for a few hours (instantly feels better).
When I have exercised again, I've felt strong in these movements. But it seems weird that the glutes and this pain / discomfort in my groin have some sort of link?
Any help greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance
Lewis
