Default Hardening of groin muscle after injury

I had a groin muscle injury while playing football. I thought it was a normal muscle tear. However, it has been six weeks after the injury and the groin muscle has become really solid right at the top where it connects to the pelvis. My physio says there may have been a rupture but finds the way it is healing a bit strange. Not sure if this is normal, if anyone has any ideas that would be great!

How did the injury happen? If there was any kind of impact to the inner thigh, a contusion is a possibility. This can also lead to myositis ossificans. Have a look here:

This is quite unusual however, but is well worth investigating

The injury happened while playing football, I stretched too hard for the ball and I tore my groin muscle. I could also hear the tear. There was swelling and bruising for about two weeks. I have looked at the link you mentioned and it seems I may have the problem where bone is forming at the top end of the groin where it is attached to the pelvis. It feels as hard as bone. I think I need to see my doctor.

    Thanks for your help!
