    Unhappy Hip & Groin Pain

    Please help me out.
    I am a soccer player. (15 years playing , 26 years old)
I have a pain on my left outer hip when I rest on my left leg only.
Problem increases when I play Soccer. I start playing with no pain but at the end of the second half my hip starts to give me pain and it continues to my left up part groin. I feel it the most on sprint races.
Pain gradually goes down in the next couple of days (the groin pain-- the hip pain also decreases but never dissapears at all, when I rest on my lef leg it hurts a little bit). So next sunday I play again and the pain comes back.
    I cant play 100%.

    Please help!!!!

Its difficult to really give you any idea of what your injury may be on here, but have a look at our hip and groin page for some ideas:

I personally think it may be related to some muscle imbalance issues. I would therefore recommend a thorough stretching program. You should stretch every muscle group in the legs and buttocks three times a day, holding each stretch for 30 seconds and gradually increasing the stretch over this time.

Other things to check out include your foot positioning and gait cycle. If you have flat feet or high arches and do not wear the correct footwear or orthotics this can affect you all the way up to your back.
