51 years old, average weight, active in several recreational sports. I injured my hip in a deep squat at work about 10 weeks ago. initialy lower back pain in the iliolumbar tendon, then in my hip, by the 6th day the sciatic kicked in and it was hard to get out of bed. went to a good Chiro, xray'ed, confirmed my L5 was out and took 4 visits to get it back in, a couple more with traction and minipulation and it was well stablized. For the past 4 weeks, the lumbar tendon is achy on and off, hip and buttock aches or is tight, sometimes tightness in the back of thigh. I"ve been doing stretches, deep massage, light eliptical workouts and walking. Also started aa kettle bell class to build up the core. I"m responding well to the massage, but the lumbar tendon and buttock tightnefss, are still a pretty constant on/off thing. I've got an appointment with a sports injury doctor, but I have to wait 2 weeks, hoping to get better for a snowboard trip in mid Dec. Any Idea whats going on with me? I"m fortunate that with the pain has never been bad enough for painkillers, just a constant annoyance and kept me from doing heavy lifting or a lot of bending at work. Chiro and a McKenzie both said my range of motion is excellent, in the top 10% of what they see.
