Angry Hip pain in young female footballer

I have a young lady who has been suffering with a nagging pain in her hip that has a pain score of around 7 out of 10 when it is bad. It rarely drops below a steady ache at about a 4. Could this be a bursitis? Or could it be a trochanter growth problem?

    Default Think I can help!

Hi I used to coach young girls for cross country and track and many had hip pain after training or competing hard during ovulation or menses. This was a result of during "that time" hormones cause the hip muscles to relax and when placed under stress --running, poor stretches, kicking or jumping---the SI joint often gets displaced causing the hip and groin area to be tight and "naggy". I know first hand as I myself have had SI issues as a professional runner. There is a cure and it involves sending her to a physical therapist for deep tissue massage, strengthening exercises and core exercises so she can learn to stableize the area and "readjust herself when necessary. Hope this helps!
