    Default Hip that's Gone Wrong

Hello everyone. I'm new to the forum and would like to introduce myself. I'm 38 years old and have been suffering with hip degeration in my R hip after seriously injuring myself playing american football when I was 12. I went to a Chiropractor at age 29 when I could barely put weight on it and the x-ray revealed a degenerative joint. After successful PT I had no pain until recently. I got an MRI, but it revealed nothing. The radiologist figures it's an inflamed bursa, but no matter what I do, I can only get one day of relief before the pain returns. I see a Chiropractor 2 times a week and he's told me that everthing is tight. My TFL, Sartorius, Rectus Femoris, Vastus Lateralis, Adductor, IT Band, even the Pectineus. The most painful is my Iliopsoas. I can do my regular workouts, which includes multi-functional and multi-directional compound high intensity movements but it seems that the pain starts 3 hours post work out. No matter how much I stretch (both am and pm), I just can't seem to get pain free. Anyone else have this?

Have you tried any other treatments? The thing that springs to mind is sports massage. If all the muscles you listed are tight this can cause problems around the hip joint. Some sports massage and myofascial release will probably help.
Using a foam roller can also be helpful, especially on the ITB.

My Chiro performs ART (Active Release Technique) which is like sports massage. I will have to get back to my foam roller, thanks for the advice.
