Default how long to recover from adductor tear?

Im a keen 50 year old triathlete, who suffered a very mild tear and strain in my adductor magnus 4 months ago, and after an initial fast recovery, it plateaued after 1 month.

Now despite an hour of physio, core strength work, and stretching every day it flares up as soon as I try to run, even really slowly. I am still able to swim and cycle even hard intervals, without any problem, and aqua jog and use a x trainer without any discomfort, but after 2 minutes on the running machine it starts to hurt, affecting my gait, and takes 3-4 days to calm down again, to a level where it doesnt hurt.

Has anyone else suffered a similar injury, and tried any other therapies apart from physio, with ultra sound, sports massage, and the above, with any success?

I am contemplating chiropractor, accupuncture both western and eastern, vibroplate, and even a witch doctor if it would help?!

How long should it take to make a full recovery?

    Hi
If it were just a groin muscle strain it should have cleared up by now with everything you have been doing.
    Another possibility is gilmore's groin:

Have a look at the page above to see if the symptoms match.
This often doesn't heal with conservative treatment.
You would need an MRI scan to diagnose it.
