Default Pain in front of hip

Hey guys, I am a track runner and I run the 400m. Well, A week ago from today, 3-31-10, I ran the 400m, Which was the last event. It was a cold day and the first time I ran the 400m in a competition, so I pushed myself harder than I have before, and at the end I Hyperventilated and I do believe fainted. The next morning I wake up with a pain in my hip/groin area. I didn't think it was much, Until I ran Saturday,4-3-10. I still had pain in my hip. I have come to a couple different answers: 1. Ruptured rectus femoris(possibility but still not sure), 2. Inflammed rectus femoris( possible when I overworked it/fell) Those are my own conclusions, I'm up to hear any of your suggestions.

    Hi
So the pain is at the front of the hip?
It is very unlikely that it is ruptured from what you have said about how you did it and you haven't mentioned any loss of function, bruising etc.
A small tear or inflammation is possible.
The hip joint is so complex however, that I suggest you visit a sports physio or similar for an assessment. Especially if you don't want this to turn into a long term problem and affect your training and competitions.

Thanks for replying, And the pain is in the front of the hip. It may be a small tear like you said. No noticeable Bruising on the skin. No noticeable swelling either. So it might be either small inflamation, or maybe a tear that I can feel but not see. So I'll probably go to a Physician or a Athletic Doctor.
