    Default Sharp pain after fall

Playing footbal on saturday I landed hard on my back, it wasnt until I got up and could hardly walk the problems started.

Everytime I walk (no chance of jogging) I get a sharp pain just below my left hip right at the top of my quad, at first i thought it maybe
some sought of groin strain but i can pretty much rule that out as i can complete most groin stretches.

If im stood up or led flat and keep my leg straight it is impossible to raise my straight leg without the pain occuring.

I have a Football Final in 7 days time and am desperate to play but at the moment i cant even jog, anyone got any idea's what this may be and how to aid recovery?

I have been applying ice packs as regulary as i can and trying to rest bust is there anything else i should be doing, is strectching going to do more harm than good?

Any advice would be much appreciated, thanks.

    Hi
Icing is definately the right thing to do and stretching gently, provided it is comfortable to do so, should be helpful.
If there is still no improvement, visit a sports therapist/physio who can assess the injury and use appropriate treatment methods to help speed up recovery and prevent it recurring.
It may be a groin strain: http://www.sportsinjuryclinic.net/cybertherapist/front/frontthigh/adductrupture.htm
Or may be the rectus femoris muscle:
