Thread: Stretching when uncomfortable?

    Default Stretching when uncomfortable?

I have a groin strain. I messed it up pretty good and I've now had it for 10 months. I have a series of standard exercises that my physio has given me, hip flexor stretches, adductor stretches, tensioning exercises. But I find at the moment I have a scratchy, nagging feeling all the time in my groin. My question is, do I do my stretches even if it feels like it's nagging? I'm not doing the stretches to the point of pain but it doesn't 'feel' like stretches are doing good for the nagging sensation.

Any help and advice would be mosty appreciated. I won't see my phyiso again for two weeks so I thought I'd put the question to you guys first.

You are right that stretches shouldn't cause pain. They can however be a little uncomfortable.
It's difficult to tell you and I think you have to go with your gut feeling. If you think they are making it worse then stop them until you see your physio again.
