    Default Buttock and thigh pain

I have been running for 35 years and recently started to develop moderate to severe pain in my butt and thighs. I have had hamstring pain in the past but it has subsided with rest or stretching. Now when I go out to run my legs are fatigued and somewhat sore when I start, and I can go about 1 mile and have to walk due to pain/fatigue.
    Anyone else having this?

    Hi,

Have you changed anything to do with your running lately? Course; distance; shoes; speed; warm-up; other exercises or sports?

I think the pain is probably coming from compression of the sciatic nerve within your buttock, which sends pain down the legs. If this is right, there is plenty of treatment you can get for it, but you must also work out what is causing it. Things such as running on the camber; weak hip abductors; old footwear, can all contribute, as well as plenty of other things too.
Have a look at this pages for treatment info. But I would also recommend getting your gait analysed to see what could be causing it.

    Good luck!
