Hi
Don't stretch into pain. All you should feel is a pulling sensation in the muscle you are trying to stretch. If theres pain then stop. Same as any other exercises. Your problem sounds as though it may be related to the initial groin strain. Possibly when the groin was painful you altered your walking style and have now overused another musclce or strained a ligament. This is impossible to know without assessing you to see the exact area of pain, getting a full history and watching you walk. For this reason you really should go to a injury specialist who can do all of this for you. In the meantime, ice after activity, stretch (pain free) and rest as much as possible. Good luck!
