Chin-Ups
The chin-up exercise is quite challenging so it is adviseable to develop strength using machines such as an assisted chin-up machine and lat pull down machines first.
Teaching points
- Grasp an overhead bar with a reverse grip as shown.
- Pull yourself up until your chin is above the bar.
- Slowly lower yourself back down.
Variations & progressions
- Perform with a wide grip i.e. hands wide apart on the bar, palms facing away from you.

Alternative exercises
- Lat pull down.
- Lat pull down using a resistance band.
