ITB Syndrome - Explained In A Minute
Iliotibial Band Syndrome or runners knee explained in a minute.
IT band syndrome is caused by the IT band rubbing against the bone on the outside of the knee when it is bent and straightened.
Repetitive frictions results in pain and inflammation on the outer knee. The IT band may feel or even look tight. Treatment involves rest, cold therapy, stretching and sports massage.
Weak outer hip muscles are often a cause and so this should be corrected, as should any training errors.
