Common volleyball injuries are pretty varied and not as localised to one area as many other sports. This is because the use of the hands and arms producing contact injuries as well as overuse injuries and also impacts the the legs and knees in particular when diving to save a ball from the ground. Overuse injuries from repeated jumping, such as patella tendinopathy may also occur.
Wrist, hand and finger injuries are more prominent in volleyball players than many other sports, through impacts with the ball. Wrist sprains and finger sprains are the most common.
