Hip muscle pain

Hip muscle pain might be described as pain coming from the muscles surrounding the hip joint. This is likely to be the gluteal muscles in the buttock or TFL (tensor fascia latae) around the side of the hip. It could be from the deep lateral rotator muscles or alternatively a more common iliopsoas (hip flexor) injury.

The posterior hamstring group can also cause hip muscle pain. Hip muscle pain can be acute or chronic dependent on the injury.
