Lateral Ankle Pain

Lateral ankle pain is felt on the outside of the ankle. It may come on suddenly after an injury, or develop gradually over time. Acute injuries happen suddenly (e.g. sprains or fractures). Chronic injuries develop over time, often due to overuse or poor healing after an earlier injury.
