Towel scrunching is a great exercise to strengthen the plantar fascia and small, intrinsic muscles of the foot. It forms part of our Plantar fasciitis rehab program as well as being an important element of any foot injury rehab program.

How to perform towel scrunching foot exercise
To strengthen the intrinsic muscles within the foot, scrunch a tea towel or paper towel using your toes. Repeat for approximately 30 seconds or until the muscles begin to fatigue. Alternatively you can pick up a pencil or marble with your toes.
Variations
Similar or alternative exercises include picking up a pencil with your toes, or marbles.
