Resistance Band Plantarflexion Exercise

Plantarflexion is the ankle movement of pointing the foot downwards. This exercise strengthens the calf muscles.

Teaching Points

  • Wrap the band around your mid foot.
  • Hold the ends of the band in your hands.
  • Start with the foot pointed upwards and the band taught.
  • Point your foot away from you against the resistance.
  • Slowly return to the starting position and repeat.

  • Gastrocnemius.
