Lateral Knee Taping

Premiership Football Physiotherapist Neal Reynolds demonstrates two simple taping techniques to support the lateral knee ligament following injury.

Lateral ligament taping

The first is a taping technique which will provide specific support for the lateral ligament on the outside of the knee. Anchors are applied above and below the knee where support strips which follow the line of the ligament are applied.

General knee taping

The second is a general knee taping technique which will provide general support for the whole knee including the lateral ligament. This will provide support for the posterior cruciate ligament and some support for the anterior cruciate ligaments as well as the lateral ligament. Which taping to use will come down to personal preference and the nature of the injury sustained.
