How to test the flexibility of your soleus muscle

Standing a step’s distance away from a wall.

Place one foot forward and bend your knee. Try to touch the wall with your knee without lifting your heel off the ground. If you succeed, step back a few centimetres and repeat the test.

Continue moving back and repeating until your knee can no longer touch the wall. Measure the distance from your foot to the wall.

For comparison, repeat the process with your other leg.

The soleus muscle, located in the lower part of the leg, plays a crucial role in walking, running, and maintaining posture. Flexibility in the soleus muscle is important for the efficient performance of lower body movements and for preventing injuries.
