Strengthening for PTTD

Strengthening exercise for the Tibialis Posterior muscle using resistance band.

The Tibialis Posterior muscle works to both invert and plantarflex the foot/ankle.

Resistance band exercise

  • The resistance band is looped around the mid foot and pulled out to the side as shown.
  • The foot is then moved into inversion (turn the sole inwards) and plantarflexion (point the toes down) at the same time to maximally work the Tib Post muscle.
